When I had a classroom, it was always a struggle to find the time to catch certain kids up while not hitting pause on the rest of the group. These might have been kids with some recent absences; they might have been kids who had weak skills in general. While there are lots of online videos that can be used for individualized instruction, there are times when a kid just really needs an actual human to help fill gaps.      Just think ... if that weren't the case, would schools really need teachers anymore?      As a result, I thought it might be helpful for a person with the availability to set up shop in a convenient spot in the hallway and do just that. Classroom teachers keep working with the class as a whole, and a catch-up kid gets a chance to gain a little ground.      This idea probably works best in larger schools ... or in flu season ... or in other circumstances when the need is substantial ... but I'm happy to go wherever there's a need. So that there's no problem with overlap between different classes, we'd make a shared doc to organize the specifics when I'm headed to your school. And if I got there and you decided for whatever reason that it'd be better if you took the tutoring and I worked with the rest of the class, I'd be ready to do that too!
